Horse Racing News and Headlines from Our Community
I'll be announcing in the next couple of days the new and improved VIP program. We've added a lot of perks for VIP members including new daily community point limits from game play as well as monthly bonus community points for just being a member. All of these enhancements and bonuses are tied into our new horse racing game as well as our community makeover.
No, we haven't forgotten about that special race for our VIPs. The $100,000 River City Handicap is headed your way. This one-and-one-eighth mile turf race for 3-year-olds and older has shaped up to be a wonderful event. The favorite, the gray speedster Thorn Song, is attempting a repeat of last year when he won the River City Handicap. Riding Thorn Song will be Robby Albarado.
VIPs, you will be receiving the Stuyvesant Handicap Grade III race sometime tonight. The actual race will be run tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, at Aqueduct Race Track - a 9 furlong event for 3-year-olds and up.
Normally we would send out a race file to just our VIPs, but we wanted to give everyone a taste of what it’s like to be a VIP. So, our fantasy Dream Dirt Mile is being sent to everyone this weekend. Pre-built races are a lot of fun and this one is no exception. With champions like Housebuster who was titled U.S.
We're almost back in action. Soon the tournaments will be back up and running. Because users or community members will be generating the majority of them, expect a lot of great action. There will probably be a lot more jockey tournaments, but I think as people begin to understand how the betting game works, we're confident that the betting tournaments will attract quite a few players, as well.
Results for the Tom Smith New Member Jockey Tournament that ended on November 21 have been posted. Just click on the tournament name from the Tournament Schedule calendar and take a look at how the tournament shaped up. Congratulations to Jubaruba who won the tournament with an Average PPS of 221.20 and will grab 75,000 community points as the first place winner.
We recently posted the results for the following tournaments:
The Ansel Williamson New Member Jockey Tournament, run from 10/30 through 11/5
The Henry McDaniel New Member Jockey Tournament, run from 11/6 through 11/12
Today I will be posting several tournaments for new players who have run less than 250 races lifetime. These are free jockey tournaments. They are easy to enter, they're fun and you can earn some nice community points.
As we get ready to kick back into our horse racing tournaments, you need to either brush up or become familiar with the handicapping secrets that can help you win and earn all those beautiful community points.
If a jockey in real life said his 20:1 shot had a great chance of winning, would you bet that horse? If a trainer saddling a 10:1 shot told you he felt his horse would improve dramatically in today's race, would you bet that horse?
Where else can you go to earn free money by hanging out and talking about horses?
I see it happen every day and no matter how hard I try to explain to both our game players and real racing enthusiasts, my number one rule when handicapping is - don't bet on the favorites. You cannot win. Yes, you can win for a race. Yes, you can win for the day and may even have a winning week or month, but over time, you will lose and lose bad. It's simple mathematics.
